Defeet
Product
Defeet
are beautifully designed copper coated pot feet. A
unique patented product that protects pots from
slugs and snails.
A naturally occurring chemical reaction between the copper
and the snail’s
mucus creates a tiny electrical charge that
repels the creatures so that
they crawl away. Defeet are ideal for the organic gardener
who does not want to use harmful chemicals.
Defeet
form an effective barrier. The pictures at the top right
of the page show two hostas we grew during 2007. The
one with Defeet was untouched the other one was eaten
to shreds by slugs and snails.
Defeet are elegantly designed and will enhance the appearance
of any pots and plants. Why spend time and money on your
garden and then use ugly slug and snail barriers?
Unlike copper pot tape, Defeet will stay in place and
protect your pots for years
| Not

FAQ
Q: Will they still work when the copper loses its shine?
A: Yes, as the copper weathers, it will take on a darker
earthier colour, then a greenish patina, it will be just
as effective as it ages.
Q: I found a snail in my pot, how did it get there?
A: Most probably, it has fallen in
from an over-hanging plant, or one that was touching
your potted plant.
If it was a baby snail it could have hatched from
an egg that was already in the soil.
Q: Once my Defeet are in place is there anything else
I need to do?
A: We would recommend that when you first use Defeet
you gently hoe the soil in the pots and remove any slug
or snail eggs. After that, just check that there are
no leaves or other debris that could cover Defeet and
be a ‘bridge’ for the slugs and snails to
get into the pot. Other than that, just sit back and
enjoy watching your plants flourish.
Q:
How big are Defeet?
A: They are 4.5cm high, 2.5cm wide
and 6.5cm long. They are made of copper coated cast iron
so they can support any sized pot or container.
